PT Bumi Resources Tbk, through its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration, exploitation, mining, and sale of coal deposits primarily in Indonesia.

It operates a concession area, known as Kalimantan Block 6 covering approximately 70,153 hectares, which comprises 5 coal mines, such as Senakin, Satui, Mulia, Batulicin, and Asam-asam located in the southeast of Kalimantan; mining concessions of approximately 90,960 hectares in Sangatta and Bengalon in the east Kalimantan province; and a 17,840 hectares concession located in Muara Enim, south Sumatra, as well as a managed consession of 8,250.5 hectares located in east Kalimantan.

The company also holds contract of work rights to a 36,070 hectares mining concession focusing on copper, silver, and gold minerals located in the province of Gorontalo; rights in a 138,889 hectares mining concession with gold prospects in central and south Sulawesi; and interests in the Anjing Hitam project with zinc reserves located in north Sumatra.

In addition, it has two iron ore permits in S’fariat and Tamagot regions in Mauritania; and holds 7 exploration licenses to explore for gold, diamond, and base metals in southern Liberia, as well as operates two oil and gas exploration concessions comprising Block R-2 (East Al Maber) covering an area of 2,139 square kilometers and Block 13 (Al Armah) covering an area of 5,563 square kilometers in the Republic of Yemen.

Further, PT Bumi Resources Tbk engages in the general trading activities. The company was formerly known as PT Bumi Modern Tbk. and changed its name to PT Bumi Resources Tbk in September 2000. PT Bumi Resources Tbk was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia.
